What a Day at Treats & Eats 09!

Check out the pics below!!  Bring the family out for our 4th Annual Treats & Eats Fall Festival! Sunday, October 18th 25th from 2-5pm we are setting up the haystacks and having a Fall Festival hoe-down. There will be lots for the kids to do, hayrides, pumpkin painting, Moonbounce, live musics, and lots of Good ‘Ol Fall Harvest Eatins. See you there!

Exploring the possibilities of a Marriage that lasts a Lifetime. We are going to take a lite-hearted look at our marriages and relationships to tune-up and tweak as necessary. Join us for a four week series beginning Sunday October 25 through November 15 @ 10am. We are also scheduling a fun Couple’s Night Out so we can hang out and get a chance to laugh and play together! We’re going to have a Highland Park Community Church camping weekend at Tinicum Park the last weekend in September (Sept. 25-27). We’ll be camping from Friday night through Sunday afternoon at Group Site #2. Church will not be held in Highland Park on Sunday Sept. 27th. We’ll have an informal “service” at the campground around the campfire. Even if you can’t go camping that weekend stop by the campground on Sun. morning for the service.

The camping weekend will be a time to kick back, have fun, and get to know each other; we’ll organize a couple of fun activities…we’ll eat together and play together! You’ll only have to prepare one meal for the group…the rest of the time you get to relax and other people will prepare your meals.

What’s provided:
Paper plates, napkins, plasticware, cups, coffee, 5 gal water jug, 2-burner propane stove, charcoal, some firewood, canopy, (the park has picnic tables and a charcoal grill).

What to bring:
$2 per person per night camping fee, chair, tent, sleeping bag, ground pad or air mattress, rain gear?, warm clothes, flip flops (for the showers), flashlight, frisbees (there’s a disc golf course), firewood (if you have it) plus everything necessary to prepare, cook, serve, and cleanup for your meal.

Let keith know if you’re coming. Once we know who’s coming we’ll figure out who’s going to handle which meal. There’s no rain date since reservations are made in advance.

We’re continuing to walk the Prayer Labyrinth on Wed. evenings. The time is now 7:15 p.m. to 8:15 p.m.

It is a great way to end the evening, walking in prayer and reCentering our day around Jesus. If you are new to walking the prayer labyrinth, don’t worry, they’ll be instruction if needed. Though we gather to walk together, we pray quietly, walking into the Center towards God, and then outward, renewed for the journey before us.

A great way to keep your heart wide open before God this Summer. Who knows what He might do?!

You know about the outdoor Starlite Movie Nites we hold every summer, but this year we are cooling things down with an Ice Cream Social to go along with the hot summer flicks! Scheduled for two Fridays this summer – and a possible 3rd in early September – come on out and bring the whole family on July 21st and August 24th.

Movie starts around 7pm, and we’ll wrap the night up by 10pm so the kiddies don’t miss out on too much sleep.

Don’t leave any Fathers behind this special day – Bring Your Father to Church this Sunday for Father’s Day! We’ll be serving up a Hearty Man’s Breakfast to celebrate the Special Day. Come a little early to enjoy the breakfast before the worship service begins, and spend some time getting to know others while we hang on The Back Porch. Service will start a few minutes late this week – 10:15 AM – to make sure there is plenty of time for Greeting and Eating!
